## Origin Story

Bethanie Buckingham didn’t start in fitness. She was working a corporate career when years of running and gymnastics, compounded by pregnancy-related injuries, left her body in need of serious rehabilitation.

A friend suggested Pilates, and the results were undeniable, leading to not just physical recovery but a fundamental shift in how she understood movement and alignment. She left the corporate world to pursue Pilates full-time, eventually becoming a Master Teacher Trainer for Power Pilates.

In 2007, she opened her own studio in Elmhurst, originally called The Pilates Room before rebranding as Buckingham Pilates. Nearly two decades later, Bethanie continues to teach, train, and advocate for the power of the original Pilates method.
