Join Notify list for Autumn in Bloom: A Hands-On Floral Design Workshop | Tuesday September 15, Curious what actually goes into an elevated florist’s arrangement beyond “just add flowers”?
Join us for a hands-on floral design workshop built around the season’s boldest bloom: the DAHLIA
This is a genuine educational experience, not a passive craft night. You’ll learn through live demonstration and guided, hands-on practice – with one-on-one coaching as you work through your own design choices.
Expect real design theory, not just a pretty centerpiece to take home
You’ll learn:
🍃 The core principles behind a well-built arrangement — proportion, balance, and dimension
🍃 How to create a focal point and guide the eye through your design
🍃 Simple techniques inspired by patterns found in nature
🍃 Flower care basics that help your arrangement last
🍃 Hands-on practice with personalized coaching as you build your own piece
Your instructor, Erin, brings 25 years of experience in luxury event floral design, along with training under some of the field’s most respected names, including Gregor Lersch, Susan McLeary, and Hitomi Gilliam. She’s also the founder and owner of A Stem Above Chicago.
All dahlias for this workshop are grown locally and supplied by Carrie of Green Garden Mama, a flower farm based in Chicago’s western suburbs – so you’ll be working with blooms cut fresh, not shipped in!
All flowers, tools, and materials are provided – just bring your curiosity!
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, grab a drink, and get settled before class begins.
