DeVries Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs and cats. Their team brings 88 years of combined veterinary experience, handling everything from routine wellness exams and vaccinations to pain management, allergy testing, orthopedic surgery, and mobile vet visits. The practice is led by a lifelong Elmhurst resident and York Community High School graduate.
Origin Story
Dr. DeVries is a 1976 graduate of York Community High School who earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 1984. In 1987, he opened DeVries Animal Hospital at 475 Spring Road in Elmhurst, and by 1989 the practice had grown enough to relocate to a larger facility at 528 Spring Road.
Beyond his veterinary practice, Dr. DeVries served ten years on the Elmhurst Zoning and Planning Commission and remains actively involved in local organizations.
Nearly four decades later, he still cares for the pets of families he’s known for generations.
