Elmhurst Tang Soo Do Karate

Elmhurst Tang Soo Do Karate is a family-oriented martial arts school specializing in the traditional Korean art of Tang Soo Do. They serve over 120 students across programs for young children (Little Dragons and Karate Kids), competitive youth and teens, and adults. The school emphasizes discipline, respect, and self-defense through traditional techniques including kicks, forms, and sparring. Parents and children can train alongside each other.

Origin Story

Masters Michael and Holly Inoshita established the Elmhurst Tang Soo Do Program in November 1998 with a mission to bring traditional Korean martial arts to the community in a family-centered setting.

They designed the program to serve students of all ages, from young children taking their first martial arts class to adults seeking discipline, fitness, and self-defense. Over nearly three decades, the program has grown to over 120 active students while maintaining its intimate, family-run character.

Many of their current students are the children of former students.
