Len’s Ace Hardware is a family-owned hardware store at 145 East First Street in Elmhurst carrying tools, hardware, home improvement supplies, lawn and garden products, and grills. They’re an authorized Benjamin Moore Paint Store and STIHL dealer. The staff provides hands-on guidance on everything from paint matching to plumbing troubleshooting to finding the right grill for your budget.
Origin Story
Len and Mary Grimsley opened Len’s Best Hardware in Addison, Illinois in 1959. Three years later, they became the 426th Ace store in the country, gaining access to a national network while preserving the independence and personal service they believed in.
The business has grown to six locations over the decades, with the Elmhurst location on First Street joining the family in 2015. Each store maintains the Grimsley family’s founding philosophy: hire knowledgeable people, stock quality products, and treat every customer like a neighbor.
Over 60 years later, the family business continues to grow.
