Berens Park is a large community park with two synthetic turf sports fields, lighted ball diamonds, and sand volleyball courts spread across its 65 acres. The running trail passes a popular sledding hill, and there are two playgrounds where families spend time together.
The Hub is the heart of the park. It opened in 2004 as a recreation center with the Lee A. Daniels Pavilion, a multipurpose room used for parties, meetings, and corporate events year-round. The Hub also has a playground, a concession stand during warm months, and seasonal attractions including batting cages for baseball and softball, an 18-hole miniature golf course, and a spray ground.
The park serves the whole community. The Elmhurst Park District offers sports leagues for adults, aquatics classes, gymnastics, dance, camps, fitness programs, and plenty of other activities. You can rent the pavilion and other spaces for picnics and special events, and the park has restrooms and picnic areas throughout.
