The Knitting Pot is a yarn and fiber arts shop that has been open since 2013, offering supplies and classes in knitting, crochet, and sewing for kids and adults. Classes are kept small (2 to 4 students) for personalized instruction and are available year-round. Gift options are also available.

Origin Story

Yasna, a textile designer from Chile, opened The Knitting Pot in November 2013, bringing an international design background and deep knowledge of fibers and fabrics to downtown Elmhurst.

Her experience in textile design, retail, and display design shapes everything about the shop, from the curated yarn selection emphasizing natural fibers to the original patterns and designs she creates in-house.

Opening a physical yarn shop in the age of online retail was a deliberate choice: Yasna understood that fiber artists want to touch and see yarn in person, and that the social side of crafting is something no website can replace.

Over the years the shop has grown into a creative community hub, with small-group classes, workshops, and casual gathering keeping the craft alive for a new generation of makers.
