Before we were known for our hospital, Elmhurst was a destination for a completely different kind of healing. In the early 1900s, Dr. Henry Lindlahr founded the Lindlahr Sanitarium here, attracting patients from all over the world who came for his famous “Nature Cure.”

Hey Elmhurst! If you want to learn more about our town's hidden history, the Elmhurst History Museum is hosting a lecture on February 8th about the Lindlahr Sanitarium.
