Are you about to toss your pumpkins? Well, hold up. Elmhurst has collected almost 34 tons of pumpkins since 2019, and you can add yours to the pile!
The city is collecting pumpkins on November 1st and November 8th at the Public Works facility on 985 South Riverside Drive from 9:00 AM to noon. So instead of rotting in a landfill, your pumpkins get composted and turned into rich nutrients. It's better for the environment, and it gives your jack-o'-lantern a second life. So once Halloween is over, bring your pumpkins to Public Works and feel good for doing something eco-friendly.
