Pronto Italian Sandwiches is opening right here at 105 North York. It looks like it's actually going to be a counter within Beer on the Wall, but I'll have more updates as they open. Now, this place is already a hit in Hinsdale, Des Plaines, and Naperville, so it's really exciting that we get one in Elmhurst, too.
They specialize in authentic Italian sandwiches with not only local ingredients, but also ingredients imported from Italy. Their main secret, though, of what makes their sandwiches so great is their schiacciata bread, which literally just means "pressed" in Italian. So it gets a crispy crust on the outside while staying nice and soft on the inside. Yum!
So whether you're looking for a quick lunch downtown or picking up dinner to go, Pronto's is definitely going to be a treat in Elmhurst, and I'll have more updates as they open.
