It’s basically a miniature version of Elmhurst where preschool-aged kids can practice being pedestrians on sidewalks, riding their bikes in the streets, and learning to look both ways before crossing railroad tracks.
It’s hands-on learning that actually sticks because they’re doing it, not just hearing about it!
Free to visit and open dawn to dusk until November 1st. Bring your own tricycle, bike, or scooter. Helmets required and kids must be supervised.

Safety Town is reopening for the season on April 1st. Safety Town is the cutest little thing. It's free to visit and open to the public from dawn to dusk until November 1st. Just make sure to bring your own tricycle, bike, or scooter, and helmets are required at all times. Oh, and kids must be obviously supervised by an adult.
Safety Town is located at 511 South York in Wild Meadows Trace, right by the Illinois Prairie Path. So grab your little ones and teach them road safety in a fun, hands-on way.
