Spring Inn is a neighborhood tavern at 552 S. Spring Road, widely considered the oldest bar in Elmhurst. Open since the early 1930s, the bar features a classic 19th-century Honduran mahogany bar believed to have been built in 1917. They don’t serve a full food menu but offer pizza, and outside food is welcome for parties and fundraisers. Local legend has it that Elmhurst’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Spring Road, the second-largest in Chicagoland, got its start as an idea among Spring Inn regulars.
